......I'll be brief. I am not a huge fan of sequels or "in-between-quels" or any other form of sequel. This movie was not fantastic but it was still enjoyable. I'd probably watch it only once over the holiday season. There were some nice songs and it sort of gets you into the holiday mood (emphasis on "sort of"). I don't know if it's because of my prejudice against pipe organs or because he's just plain creepy but Forte(?) should just shut up and disappear in a puff--I was probably 6 or 7 when this came out and I never wanted to watch it again(I blame pipe organs.)

Ah, so this was the film that brought in the newest type of sequels to date: the "midquel", yes?

I will admit it, even though I'm not a huge princess movie fan, but it wasn't half bad.

It's almost like the story "A Christmas Carol", with the Beast hating Christmas and all (but then again, Beast was like a Scrooge in the original before Belle entered into his life), but the rest of the story was pretty good. Bland but good. The new characters (like Angelique) were a good touch, and I agree, Forte was a scary (but pretty cool-looking in 3D) villain . . . and quite pointless. The animation was better than some of the previous Disney DTVs of the time, but it was the songs (especially the climactic "As Long As There's Christmas") that blew my socks off. To think that this quality of song was in a low-budget DTV was amazing. WOW.

This is a great holiday film for the kids and the kids at heart. Maybe even worth a buy as well! 3 stars!

This movie is pretty good it's as good as could be expected, I suppose, of a Beauty and the Beast 'sequel' holiday movie. The villain, a pipe organ named Forte, is very scary. The song "As Long as There's Christmas" is beautiful. Some of the story might seem incongruous with the original film, but it's still a great movie overall.

I have to admit that this DTV was ok. The plot was weak, but some of the songs were great. It's one of Disney's rare sequals I will watch more than once. The one thing that I found kind of strange about the animation was Forte was the only computer animated character and he looked out of place with all the 2d characters at times.

i agree, the climax was weak, but the songs were awesome. forte was a good add-in. "as long as there's christmas," was an awesome song and will probably make the disney songbooks sooner or later. this was a great film and it had it's weak moments, but it still was one of my favoites.

I am usually not a fan of direct-to-video sequels but this one genuinely surprised me. The characters were true to the original, displaying a surprising amount of depth in showing the tentative friendship growing between Belle and Beast. I thought the Beast's crisis over Christmas was very believable and fit into what we knew from the original film without appearing to be shoehorned in. The animation wasn't stellar but it too had its moments--I particularly liked the character design for Angelique. And finally the songs, which are usually the low-point for me, were quite nice with the "Stories" song and "As Long as There's Christmas" being my favourites. I thought someone was very smart in letting Paige O'Hara do most of the singing in this film. My only complaint would be that after all this great setup, I thought the climax of the film was pretty weak.

All in all though, it's a worthwhile film.
