I had heard about this, but I saw it on TV about a week ago. I didn't think it was that bad, but it had many problems.

Story: A retelling of the Dickens story, A Christmas Carol . . . only with the main dog characters of All Dogs Go To Heaven (mainly the sequel and the TV series). Save Christmas by stopping the bad guy (or in this case, the character behind the evil, Belladonna) and turn them good. Yeah. We've seen it all before. It's predictable. Could have been better.

Characters/Voices: Ugh. Horrible. The only voices that made me happy were Itchy and Killer (mainly because I think they were only a couple of the original voices that came back for this). Most of the characters were not as good as I remembered them in the previous movies. The new characters were very minor and didn't seem that very important IMO.

Music/Songs: Corny. Corny as in it would keep a group of 3 to 6 year olds busy for about an hour. The songs were badly sung, but could have been better with better voices IMO.

Animation: Obvious DTV work. It had glitches and characters started looking weird when they talked during much of it. At least the colors were nice, and helped set the mood for much of the movie.

Overall: Not worth it. The cover looks nice, but don't judge a movie by its cover. It's the opposite. But it is worth at least one viewing, especially during the Christmas season, just don't buy it.

My mother brought this home the other day it was in the cheap racks, go figure. It was a different spin on the Christmas Carol, but it wasn't all that great. The animation was mediocre at best. The voice of Charlie was awful. The bad "guy" was, to me very cheesy. They really didn't need her.
The whole plot was Carface has this tough decision to make about saving Christmas and Charlie, Itchy, and Sasha play the roles of the ghosts and try to convince him that he can do something good.
There is quite a bit of singing in there too, most of which are the type of songs you cringe at.
There were a few parts I did enjoy, but on a whole the movie really isn't that great, maybe good for one watch, but as lupercal stated, it's really for die-hard fans of the series.

The last fling (presumably) for the ADGTH crew, coming after the TV series, this 1999 movie is really for diehard fans only. The animation is only TV quality (and not very good TV quality at that), and whereas the series at least had some fun storylines, this is just the usual be-nice-to-everyone Christmas schmaltz.

I enjoyed ADGTH 2, I can enjoy the TV series when I'm bored, but this one got watched once and shoved in the back of the cupboard. OTOH it's no worse, perhaps even better than Scooby-Do animated movies, and people still watch those for some reason.

The plot? Oh, something to do with Charlie and Sasha and Itchy trying to play Santa to ophaned puppies, and Carface trying to spoil it all. *yawn*

It's not completely wretched, but really, unless you're a HUGE fan of the second movie and TV series, don't bother.

BTW, how the hell can this have a higher rating at the moment than ADGTH2 the movie?
