I thought this was really funny and truthful.

I know the animation wasnt top quality stuff but Don Hertzfeldt was just a student then and we all must start somewhere.

The music was ok a bit weak but fine none the less.

This must be as good as it gets for a short of such poor quality of animation. The message of the story is so true and at the same time funny. I give it 3 stars because it's good but not excellent, since its music is bad, it lacks sound effects, and the animation is weak.

This is one of those animations that everyone wishes they had made themselves, because whether or not you agree with its message, you can relate to it, guaranteed. It's just universally funny. No, seriously. Like most/all of Don Hertzfeldt's works, it's just a blast to watch. A stick-man...and stick-men ROCK, I might add...walks by various "types" of girls, trying to find a date who won't randomly slaughter him because, obviously, women are evil.

The problem is, why wish you could make it yourself? You probably could! At the risk of getting computer viruses for the next ten years from all of Hertzfeldt's cult fans, I dare say this animation is terrible! It looks like somebody doodled in a notebook and flipped the pages in front of a camera! Ok, ok, sure, Don was just a freshman in college. Don didn't have all the resources. Don did it by himself. Animators have to start somewhere. Don't get me wrong, I admire the guy for his drive and his creativity, but on the basis of QUALITY OF ANIMATION alone, this is really, really bad.

Maybe that's part of the reason why it's so funny. But if they're handing out major awards for this, what am I doing typing on a computer? I've got tons of notebooks! Academy Awards, here I come!
