It was a good take on the theme, and it was nice to see some focus on the owners.

The only thing that I really thought it was a weak point it was the fact that the producers missed the chance to use a big variety of puppies. They're 101 Dalmatians, there could be some characters among them...

This was a show I loved to watch on Saturday mornings when it premiered, but when it came to Family Channel in reruns about 2 years ago, I really didn't know what I loved so much about it.
It isn't horrible, and the animation is stylized and kind of cool, but something about it just doesn't quite work for me.
I guess my biggest complaint is that the dalmatians, Roger, and Anita are American. The actors didn't even attempt to put on British accents.
The main characters (Lucky, Rolly, Cadpig, and Spot) are cute, but kind of annoying after a while.
Not awful, but not one of Disney's better cartoons.

I never knew what to make of the series of 101, for starters it cuts the puppies down to three with occasional appearances by others, Spot is a character who could have quite easily have replaced by a dog and DeVil is not quite the persona that made her such a chilling villain in the original movie.

Animation wise this was a fine piece of work, with a strong bold, graphic favour and good attention to character animation. Also the voice work fits the characters (even if they have somehow all turned into Americans), though I personally don’t much care for it, or them.

And that is the real problem for me, in all honestly, I didn’t much like this series enough to watch it again and again. There's nothing seriously wrong with it, it just never held my interest, although some of the storylines were good, most did little for me. I found the cast hopelessly inadequate and I found all the characters, especially Spot and Cadpig, extremely annoying.

In short, pretty standard fair.

Hmm, to think 101 Dalmatians was made into a Saturday morning cartoon, it kinda saddens me.

I mean, the best thing about this show was the character design. I liked the big outlines for the main characters and the exaggerated designs for the main characters: Lucky, Rolly, Cadpig, and Spot. Everything else was kind of . . . dull. The storylines, the personalities of the characters, even the villains (mainly Cruella and her boring henchmen) weren't enough to make the stories interesting.

I think the show had nothing but "cuteness appeal" (this mainly applies to the adorable Cadpig, who was a book-only character in the original story "The One Hundred and One Dalmatians", and never in either of the movies (animated and real-life version)). All sugar, no base.

So, watch it if you're bored out of your wits, but it's really not worth it.

It's an ok watch if you're really bored and have nothing better to do. This was one of Disney's weaker 90's series. The main characters weren't really all that loveable either. Cadpig was just annoying, Rolly seemed just too dumb, and Lucky was stuck up. Spot, was just stupid. I found her more a nuisance than even cadpig at times. Some of the situations they found themselves in did make up for the bad main characters though.

The show was alright, enjoyable on a rainy morning. Plus I learnt more of the puppies names. Hehe, Cadpig was awesome

Ah. The mid 90s. What an era. I was just out of high school and still loving cartoons. While it's true that cartoons around this time weren't as cool as some of the classics from the 80s, for the most part cartoons still felt like cartoons should. Disney was putting out many stellar shows long before they became weird and made cartoons that looked more like grossout Nicktoons. 101 Dalmatians the series was probably one of their niftier cartoons, and probably still is. Sonic the Hedgehog was already long gone, but this was probably the next best thing. While it wasn't laugh out loud funny, its animation and characters were very bright and personable. It obviously didn't capture the dark and gritty flavor of the movie, but it didn't need to. It was its own creation, full of wonderful characters. If you ask me, the star of the show was Cadpig. Or maybe it was the chicken. At any rate, this show was a heck of a lot better than the watered-down Jungle Cubs.
