More a technical demo than a truly great film (or even a good one), in some ways it is like many of Pixar’s - or any other company's - early short films, For the Birds is a passable short in the Pixar cannon, in that it is watchable, even somewhat fun for the first watch, but after that it isn’t really worth the mark of a classic in the sense that I understand it. Personally I didn't find it that good on even my first viewing, although judging by the rest of the audience at least some of them found the ending funny. Pixar have made better shorts themselves and there are other short films which are much more worth your time; this one is worth a look at least once but I doubt it will bare up to too many repeat viewings.
