It's been Forty Years, Charlie Brown

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown © United Feature SyndicateWhen ABC aired It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown on October 27th, it marked the 40th Anniversary of this classic Halloween special hitting the airwaves, (it first came to TV on CBS in 1966). In honour of the event, the Chicago Sun Times ran an article with Jeannie Schulz, (widow of Peanuts creator, Charles M. Schulz), about what she recalls from the making the the special. Also Snoopy.com has been running an essay contest to seek out stories from people's worst Halloween experiences. If you remember this special, don't forget to write your review!

Why did Aardman make Flushed Away CG?

Flushed Away © Dreamworks / AardmanIt's a question that many fans of Aardman's classic claymation shorts and features have been asking. There's a huge number of CG films already out there, why should the masters of stop-motion ditch their plastercine for pixels? Well the folks at SCI FI WIRE asked that very question of Flushed Away directors, David Bowers and Sam Fell. Read the article to learn more. The film gets its North American release November 3rd.

Aardman and Dreamworks split

Dreamworks / AardmanWord has filtered out that Dreamworks and Aardman are likely to split after the release of Flushed Away in November. The CG feature is the second in what was supposed to be a three picture deal between Aardman and Dreamworks. However, due to the lack of box-office success for Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit and rumours of creative friction during the production of Flushed Away, it's looking like Aardman may be in the hunt for a new partner. For more check out the article on Animation Magazine.
