Trailer for Valiant released
In what may go down as the year that 3D animation took over the box office, here's yet another feature that will be hitting theatres next year. Valiant is the tale of an undersized pigeon who wants to do his duty in World War II. You can watch the trailer here.

Through the Moebius Strip - Trailer
A trailer is now available for underground icon Jean Giraud's film Through the Moebius Strip. Nearly four years in production, the SF/fantasy epic is animated in China under close supervision of Giraud from Paris.
Some may remember 'Moebius' for his cult comics such as Arzach in Heavy Metal (Metal Hurlant) magazine. No release date for the film yet, but it is now in post-production.

Groove goes to TV
Animated News reports that the Disney channel has ordered 21 episodes of a new series to be based on The Emperor's New Groove. The series, titled Emperor's New Skool, will take the characters from the movie and send them back to school--literally. Kuzco has been deposed and must now pass all his classes at an Inca public school, plus foil the schemings of Yzma and Kronk, in order to get his throne back. The series will hit the Disney Channel sometime in 2006.

New Ghibli US release dates
UltimateDisney.com quotes a new press release from Disney, giving a US release date of February 22nd, 2005 for the next wave of Studio Ghibli DVD releases. My Neighbor Totoro has been bumped for some reason, and replaced with the non-Miyazaki directed The Cat Returns, joining Porco Rosso and Nausicaa. The whole press release is available here.

Optic Riot takes kids to the fun-filled world of the Estuary
Believing that "responsible" and "fun" are not mutually exclusive terms, Canadian-based Optic Riot Entertainment released its first DTV last month titled Estuary Adventures. Although the company is only two years old, the quality of their work is impressive and Estuary Adventures promises an imaginative, musical tale without the violence or sarcasm that plagues most kids entertainment. Father of the Pride pulled
Numerous sources are reporting Dreamworks' 'Father of the Pride' has been pulled from air by NBC during the November 'sweeps' period, due to poor ratings. Only 7 of the 13 ordered episodes have aired, and though NBC state the show will return at a future unspecified date, rival network Fox , perhaps unsurprisingly, describe the show's future as 'shaky'.

Teaser Trailer for Cars released
Pixar's latest The Incredibles will be heading into theatres today, however before the feature you'll have the opportunity to see the teaser for Pixar's Cars, which will be arriving in theatres this time next year. You can also watch the trailer online on the Apple.com website.
