Oh Bother...

In what is rapidly becoming the latest 'tradition' in the animation world, Disney has decided to update Winnie the Pooh and his friends. Pooh will be returning to television with a new animated series in 2007 called My Friends Tigger and Pooh, a new look and a new friend--a six year old girl who will replace Christopher Robin. The girl is described as being a tomboy and the stories, while still emphasizing trust and friendship, are to have more physical acitivity to appeal to more active older preschool age kids. Not surprisingly there are critics to the idea who say Pooh is timeless and doesn't need updating. Check the article on CBC Arts for more details.
