Guess Who...?

Jerry Beck – author of The Animated Movie Guide et al, as well as being a consultant on various theatrical compilations sets like the Looney Tunes Golden Collections – has reported that Universal is releasing 75 of their theatrical shorts in a 3-disc set. The set will include 45 chronological Woody Woodpecker cartoons, in addition to Chilly Willy, Andy Panda, Swing Symphonies, Oswald the Rabbit and some wartime shorts. Jerry Beck reports that the shorts are all uncut and re-mastered from the original negatives. The set will street on July 24th at a RRP of $39.99.

Aristocats Special Edition DVD delayed

Disney's 1970 animated feature, The Aristocats has had its DVD Special Edition delayed until the spring of 2008. According to Ultimate Disney, the delay is to allow for 'new, never-before-seen' content in the film.
