The tale of the mutant super-heroes and defenders of humanity--the X-Men--is re-told with a younger spin in this update of the comics and the original 90's animated series. Cyclops, Jean and Rogue are cast as high school students alongside some new faces including Spyke, Nightcrawler and Shadowcat among others. They are part of Professor Xavier's school for the gifted where Storm and Wolverine are teachers who help the young X-Men team learn to control their powers. A different sort of recruitment is going on at Bayville High, where the young X-Men attend high school. The principal is in fact a disguised Mystique who is working for the shadowy figure of Magneto, already drawing together his Brotherhood in the hopes that someday mutants will come to reign supreme over common human beings...
