Wild Arms
Wild Arms © Bee Train / Wowow / Sony Computer Entertainment / SPE Visual Works

In a battle ten thousand years ago, God destroyed the Evil Race. They left the Wild Arms behind, though--dangerous weapons which can be used only by members of that race.

A thief trying to steal one of the weapons discovers it in the hands of a small boy--a boy who is able to use it. Is he really the reincarnation of one of the Evil ones?

Of Interest:

The first Wild Arms Playstation game was made in 1997. It was followed by three sequels and a remake for PS2.

There was a movie titled Wild Arms released in Japan in 1996, but I don't have enough information to know if it is related.
