Thunderbirds Are Go!

In the mid 21st Century, Jeff Tracy created International Rescue, an organisation that could react to any crisis on land, sea or even space, when all hope otherwise would have been deemed lost. His friend Brains, designed five technologically advanced machines to obtain that goal, codenamed Thunderbirds. With his five sons acting as pilots and field agents, the group has met the impossible on countless occasions, and won.

Now, Jeff Tracy has disappeared, after a mysterious accident with connections to The Hood, a terrorist with a long-held grudge against International Rescue and its ideals. Now under the leadership of eldest brother Scott, the team continues its dedication to saving lives, while trying to find clues as to the whereabouts of their father, with a little help from their London agent, Lady Penelope, and her chauffeur Parker.

animated series Thunderbirds Are Go! © Weta Productions / ITV / Pukeko PicturesGerry Anderson's original 1960's series was made with a cast of marionette puppets and large, elaborate models of the various vehicles. The 2015 series uses a mixture of CGI for both the cast and vehicles, as well as live-action sets modelled and constructed by Weta, the special effects company best known for their work on Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies.

Tanusha "Kayo" Kyrano is the same character that was called Tintin in the original series. Her name being change is due to copyright conflicts with Hergé's Tintin. Her father, Kyrano, the brother of The Hood, does not appear in this series.

David Graham reprises his role as Aloysius Parker.
