Richard Taylor is a cowardly boy who is afraid to do normal kid things like climb a tree or ride a bike, preferring to bury himself in accident statistics instead. One stormy day he takes shelter in an ancient library where he becomes whisked away into a land of books and magic. The only way to return to the 'real world' is to find the courage to work through the obstacles found in classic stories.
