The Jetsons
The Jetsons © Hanna-Barbera / ABC

Hanna-Barbera's third prime time cartoon series, 'The Jetsons' were residents of Skypad Apartments, and the space-age analog of The Flintstones. George was the good-hearted but bumbling father who seemed always at the mercy of malfunctioning devices and his greedy boss Mr. Spacely (a prototype of 'The Simpsons' Mr Smithers?) His wife, Jane seemed to have a lot less trouble with her fantabulous household gadgets. The rest of the family comprised dog, Astro (who surprisngly wasn't a robot), inventive young son, Elroy; teeny-bopper daughter, Judy, and robot maid, Rosie.

Of Interest:

Despite being a household name, the Jetsons was cancelled after only one season, and its reputation for almost 25 years was built on those 24 episodes, running endlessly in syndication. The bulk of the episode count comes from the second incarnation of the show, which originally aired between 1984 and 1987.
