After Peter Parker is bitten by a radioactive spider, he begins to develop amazing spider-like powers. Though at first he uses these new abilities for personal gain, his inaction towards a petty criminal indirectly causes the death of his uncle Ben. To amend for this, Peter decides to honor his uncle’s motto of “With great power comes great responsibility.” Fashioning himself some web-shooters and donning a red/blue web-patterned suit, he becomes the crime fighter known as Spider-Man. Yet the double life of a superhero is never straight cut and Peter is forever torn between the loyalties of his own ‘normal’ life with that of having to deal with supervillains, crime syndicates, the editor of the local Daily Bugle newspaper and his own nagging doubts.
