Tom and Jerry have been chosen by the Astronomical Society for a trip to the Moon. They are loaded aboard an obviously incapable cannon on a pier and sent into orbit... except they land in the water a stone's throw away. After a series of bizarre encounters with strange fish and a living skeleton, they discover a group of mermaids and get down to some romantic frolics, and the cartoon turns into a characteristic Van Beuren musical romp.
