Reboot

Deep inside a computer system, there is an inner world of sprites, viruses, binomes and nulls. In one such computer-city, Mainframe, life is never dull as its plagued by computer glitches, evil viruses like Megabyte and Hexidecimal, and incoming games threatening to wipe out Mainframe's citizens. Thankfully for them, Mainframe has Bob, a Guardian, who's mission is to "mend and defend." With the help of his friends, Dot and Enzo, he'll keep the system safe from harm.

animated series Reboot © Mainframe EntertainmentSo why is it that the vast majority of Mainframe's citizens look like stacks of boxes or little round balls? The answer lies in the fact that they're Binomes--or binomials--which means 1's and 0's. Binomial is the language that the computer speaks in so it isn't surprising that it crops up in Mainframe. There are quite a few of these computer inside jokes in "Reboot"--from Hexidecimal's cat named Scuzi (or SCSI, a kind of computer interface system) to Phong (a very old programming language)--however you don't have to understand all the computer humour to enjoy the show.

It is unclear whether or not there will be any further offerings from the Reboot universe. It was officially cancelled after Season 3 but Mainframe came back and produced two feature-length made-for-TV pieces, which is sometimes labelled as Reboot's Season 4. The last of these ends in somewhat of a cliffhanger so who knows if the studio will pop out a Season 5 in the future.
