Project A-ko
Project A-ko © A.P.P.P. Company Ltd.

Sixteen years after a spaceship crashed into a now rebuilt city, A-ko, a girl with superhuman strength and her best friend C-ko are late for their first day at their new school. Once there, they meet their new classmates, among them the brilliant but spoilt B-ko; who years ago swore revenge on A-ko. B-ko decides that she wants C-ko to be her friend, but how to get rid of A-ko, whose strength seems undefeatable. To this end, B-ko designs and builds giant robots, ones that should be capable of doing away with her rival. Meanwhile a alien spaceship and its crew are creeping towards Earth, trying to locate their long lost Princess.

Of Interest:

The character Mari is intended to be a female parody of the character Kenshiro from the anime film and series: Fist of the North Star.

The Captain of the alien spaceship is partly a parody of Captain Harlock, a anime character who would often be seen sipping red wine on the bridge of his ship. However Project A-ko’s Captain is a complete drunk. His design is a parody of the character Char Aznable from Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, both characters share the same (Japanese)voice artist.

The character names are a reference to a standard Japanese practice of naming extras in movie scripts: A-ko, literary means Girl A and so on for the others.
