Porky prepares at home for a duck hunt and heads off to the water with his faithful hound. Porky's own ineptness is probably sufficient to doom this venture, but to remove any doubt, his quarry turns out to be Daffy Duck, in his debut appearance, at which time he was basically completely mad. A procession of gags ensues, with Porky mostly on the recieving end. Created by: Warner Bros.
Released: 1937
Language: English
Country of Origin: USA
Style: 2D animation
Featuring the voices of:
Directed by: Tex Avery
Produced by: Leon Schlesinger
Musical Score by: Carl W. Stalling
Of Interest: Not only the first Daffy Duck cartoon (here he is virtually unrecognisable, both physically and personality-wise, from the later incarnation we mostly know), but it also marks the first short where Porky is voiced by Mel Blanc. Look for this short on public domain collections, though Warner did release it on VHS in Australia, and probably on LaserDisc in the USA. profile by: lupercal |
