Pokémon: The First Movie - Mewtwo Strikes back © Shogakukan / 4 Kids Entertainment / Nintendo Co Ltd

Mewtwo, a genetically engineered clone of the legendary pokémon Mew, escapes his confines after being abused by his creator Giovanni; the leader of Team Rocket. The now bitter pokémon hatches a plan to lore skilled pokémon trainers to his island, Ash Ketchum amongst them. On their arrival Mewtwo reveals his plan to clone the trainers’ pokémon, destroy the human world and their pokémon ‘slaves’ along with them. As Ash and his friends try to convince Mewtwo that what he is trying to do is wrong, something else is approaching the island.
