Nominated for an Oscar, but more interesting is suggestion that the short was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize (in books like Jerry Beck's Animation Art); although it doesn’t show up anywhere on the committees list of Nobel Prize nominations in the years around its release on their website. William Hanna and Joe Barbera remade the short in cinemascope in 1955, this new version was titled 'Goodwill to Men'.
