A character artist is walking home late one night when she is attacked by a boy on rollerskates wielding a golden baseball bat. Almost instantly, there are accusations that the attack was a lie, an excuse for failing her deadline.
But then more people are attacked...strangely enough, all people dealing with their own hopeless personal crisis. Soon all of Tokyo is hunting for the boy known as Little Slugger.
