What's a highly-talented young wizard doing so far from the guild tower? Why is he giving magic lessons for his room and board, and spying on the home of an heiress?

Orphen's dearest friend transformed herself into a dragon, the Bloody August. The guild of wizards has pronounced her death sentence, but Orphen flouted their authority and ran away in the hope that he can find and save his old friend Azalie.

Aided by his new apprentice Majiq and spoiled heiress Cleao, and hampered by a pair of pesky trolls, Orphen sets out on his quest: to find the Sword of Baltanders, and then to track the Bloody August to its lair and use the sword to briing his friend back.
