Joseph: King of Dreams
Joseph: King of Dreams © Dreamworks

At birth Joseph was pronounced a "miracle child"--born to a mother, Rachel, who was thought to be barren and a father, Jacob, in the twilight of his life. Jacob believed that this was a sign from God that Joseph was to lead an exceptional life and so he kept Joseph from the hard labour that was the task of his older brothers. Jacob taught him reading and writing and Rachel wove him a beautiful coat. His many older brothers were jealous of Joseph's special status in the family and when Joseph's gift of dreaming the future became apparent, they became convinced that they'd eventually find themselves subserviant to this spoiled upstart. To prevent this and get rid of him for good, they sold Joseph into slavery. The slave traders took Joseph to Egypt where his true destiny was awaiting him...
