Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

It has been some years since the events of the Final Fantasy VII video game in which Cloud and his companions saved the world from the vengeful Sephiroth. Since then, Cloud has retired into seclusion to ponder his past sins, and their world has not healed itself as they had all hoped. A lethal plague known as Geostigma is spreading through the population--primarily in the children. While some seek Geostigma's cure, Kadaj believes it is a sign of Sephiroth's return. Kadaj and the other avatars are now seeking the resting place of Mother, the seed of evil that rained down from the sky so long ago. With Mother's power, Kadaj can become the living Nightmare once again...

animated movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children © Square USA / Square EnixThe original Final Fantasy VII video game was first released in 1997. Although it represented cutting-edge graphics for its time, it is still a little jarring now when you see the video game's characters next to their movie counterparts.
