Adapted from Babette Cole's book, Dr Dog concerns the life of an anthropomorphic canine scientist/MD who lives with with a working class human family, the Gumboyles. He manages to be both family pet and the superior intellect of the household, who is always either coming up outlandish new inventions, or curing people with outlandish conditions, or both. Nobody pays any attention to the fact that he can speak, let alone work on scientific projects.
