Spike and Jet are futuristic bounty hunters in this series where space opera meets Westerns meets film noir, to the accompaniment of blues harp. Co-owners of the spaceship 'Bebop', their team is reluctantly completed as their paths cross with the initially unwelcome Faye, the female hacker genius Ed, and Ein - a cybernetically enhanced Welsh Corgi. Each episode is a self contained story ranging from action to comedy to pathos, as the crew of the Bebop desperately chase up new jobs to pay for the damages caused by their last job.
