Cats Don't Dance
Cats Don't Dance © Warner Bros. / Turner Feature Animation

A young ambitious cat named Danny comes to Hollywood with a song in his heart, dancing moves in his feet and a dream of becoming a movie star. When he gets there however he learns that the only parts he can get are the stereotypical cat roles with "meow" being his only line. With his new friends, Danny sets out to change that situation but Darla Dimple, the spoiled child star, is determined to make sure that the gang never gets a chance to become a threat to her own career.

Of Interest:

The late Gene Kelly (known for his work in numerous movie musicals) is credited with some of the choreography in the dance sequences. Also, despite its poor performance at the box office, Cats Don't Dance took home the Annie Awards (kind of like the Oscars of Animation) for Best Feature and Best Music in a Feature.
