Boo Moon
Boo Moon © Famous Studios

Unable to find any friends on Earth, Casper sets his sights on befriending the Man in the Moon, but upon his arrival finds the moon is barren and lifeless. In his sleep he is captured by the tiny moon people and brought to the King, who declares him to be a monster that should be tossed into the dungeons. Just then the tree-people attack and Casper decides that the moon people could use his help to protect their city.

Of Interest:

This cartoon was originally made in 3D during a short period in film history which employed the stereo-optical process in mainstream cinemas (and those glasses). To capitalize on this new cinematic fad, Famous studios made two cartoons (this short and a Popeye one), before the craze quickly died.

This short also marks a reappearance of King Bombo from Gulliver’s Travels as Luna: King of the Moon People.
