Momiji Fujimiya thought she was just an ordinary schoolgirl until the plants tried to kill her.
It seems that Momiji is the last Kushinada, descendant of princesses whose blood is the only defense against fearsome alien killer plants called Arigami. And the Arigami are trying to remove the one obstacle to their domination of the earth.

The story is based on the Izumo cycle of Japanese mythology. In the original legend, the god Susano-oh met an old couple who were crying because an eight-headed dragon had eaten seven of their daughters, and was coming back for the eight that night, Susano-oh got the dragon Yamata-no-orochi drunk on sake, then lopped its heads off. He found a sword in its tail (which belonged to the Yamamoto ruling family until it was lost when the last Yamamoto's boat was sunk.) Susano-oh married the surviving daughter, Kushinada
